My Aunt D's House

In my attempt to figure out how to post pictures, I thought I would show one of my favorite places to visit~my Aunt D's house! She and my uncle recently built this lovely garden home that we were able to see for the first time last summer. I am showing her living room. Isn't the overhead light fixture gorgeous! I fell in love with the lamp that is sitting next to the rocker. She surprised me when I got home by sending me one just like it! Can you see it in my header picture? :-)
I love all her built-in cabinetry! Every since I was a little girl, I would walk around her beautiful homes just studying how she made such wonderful and sentimental vignettes. She's also a lover of lamps like so many of us! :-)

A view towards her kitchen and entryway. I just love her rocking chair!

Her beautiful secretary and collection of crosses. The picture in the middle on the right shows my father and aunt when they were young.

This pic pretty much sums up what we like to do when we get together! :-)

Aunt D, thank you for letting me use your
home for my first "real" post!

I just love the way everything is arranged and displayed including the textile that is framed and hanging on the wall over the fireplace. The bunnies, kitties, and horses look really nice.

I appreciate the architectural interest of the arches used in this space. It's just beautiful. The pictures are wonderful. Please thank your Aunt for allowing us to visit in her home. It is gorgeous and she should, along with her hubby, be very proud.

I love looking at the hobby horse on your 'About Me' (I named him Racer, when I was little).
I thought Racer was so big! I remember how surprised I was when I saw him for the first time after 30 years....he wasn't big at all..... so funny to think how big I thought he was. Of course I was probably 2 or 3 years old.
I'm so glad you had him repaired .....he looks great in your beautiful home.
Love,
Dolores

Laura I'm out of control!!Lol! I have way to darn many collections as it is! But that ugly lamp was only $3.99 and I thought that base had to be worth at least that? There were two more with really cool bases for $7.99 and now I could scream that I didn't buy them! Anyhoo I was thinking about doing a garage sale blog and I was digging through one of my dangerous closets...when I saw the pink girl lamp. I'd completely forgotten about it! I'm sooo sorry! Do you still want it by any chance? Sure don't blame you if you don't...you probably think I'm a complete airhead...well I am! Anyway I still have it...and it is a cutie....Vanna
