This is my first time participating in 'Three or More Tuesday', hosted by Tam at The Gypsy's Corner!
Not long after my dh and I got married, I walked into an art gallery in our town square and saw four paintings by a local artist. It was love at first sight! I loved each one of them, although I immediately spotted my favorite! :-)
Christmas was coming up and I started throwing out hints to my dh. We walked into the gallery just a couple of weeks before Christmas and they were gone! The owner said someone had come in just a few days before and bought all four. Waaaaah! And my dh had the nerve to actually ask later that day, "Well, what else do you want for Christmas?" They were all I wanted! How could he ask that?!
Well, low and behold, the sneaky thing had bought them on the sly! He told me that he had to wave a signal to the owner to not let on. I must say she did an outstanding acting job! :-)

They are so pretty, Laura, but if I have to pick only 1, I will pick the one with balloons. How sweet of your dh to surprise you that way...Christine

Hey Girlfriend...
First of all, just want to say that I'm sorry that you're home sick with a cold! I know you hate missing work (wink!) Seriously, I'll be praying for you, Sweetie!!! Gosh, it seems like you just got over a cold...shoot, the "glories" of working in a public school with all of those little germies! That was the only part I hated about working at school...it seemed that I caught everything that was going around!
Okay now...on to your lovely blog post! Girl, I love these paintings...they are so colorful, happy and full of whimsey!!! Although I would just love to have any one of these...I think my favorite is the 3rd one of the two ladies sitting at the table with the ocean behind them!!! So where do you have these beautiful pieces of art in your home? I don't ever recall seeing them! And that Tom, isn't he just the sweetest? I loved how he took you back into the art shop, full knowing that the paintings would be gone...what a man!!! Hehehe...I love it!!!
Also, congrats on your "Sisterhood" blog award...it's so very well deserved, my friend!!! And thank you so much for thinking about me...to pass it on to!!! I feel so honored to be a part of this special "Sisterhood" that we share in!!! You're a dear friend, Laura!
Well Sweetie...hope you get to feeling better!!!
Love and prayers,
Chari
What a sneaky hubby :-) My favorite is the last one... something about her face....
These are so colorful and lively. I'd say the 2nd one is my fave...that'd be me, enjoying a "quiet moment' before the kids get home and the noise level rises to "deafening". lol!
Hey Dearheart...
I had to come back by for a peek at your header photo...I just couldn't remember seeing those fabulous paintings!!!
I see them now...along side that pretty hutch! They're fabulous, my friend! Thank you for pointing them out to me and where they are in your home!
Love ya,
Chari
The colors are so vibrant and just beautiful in all 4 pictures. The pictures certainly remind me of you....
It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I'm forced, it would be # 1.
Where are the pictures in your house?...I don't remember seeing them.
Tom is so sweet!!
Love,
Dolores
I really like them all -- they are such beautiful colors. I couldn't make our the name of the artist. Care to share?

Thank you EVERYONE for the kind things you've said about my paintings! :-)
I looked again and can barely read the handwriting...I think it says T. Fournier...but I can't be sure. I might be going to the square soon and I'll ask the owner if she knows if this artist is still around. Thank you all again! :-) L~
Well you've been way too busy girlfriend! *winks* And that hubby of yours can sure keep a secret! Lol! That is a BEYOND wonderful present! It's very hard to choose a favorite but if I had to I'd say the last one. But they're all soooo fab! I hope your cold is letting up. Vanna
My favorite is the last one. I can't explain why - it just 'speaks' to me. Wonderful post for 'Three Or More' and thank you so much for participating.
Have a wonderful evening,
Tam
What an awesome guy he is! I love hearing stories about sneaky husbands trying to surprise their wives. Beautiful paintings too! ♥ Diane
Many, many years ago my sister had a set of drawings, I think it was a signed limited numbered set, can't remember for certain. They had been done by a local artist and were of local landmarks. They always intrigued me. I think having anything done by someone local is very interesting and a wonderful thing to have. I can't pick just one, I also would want the entire set.
Tom is a very thoughtful, caring person and a keeper for sure, but you already know that.
Hello Laura, I couldn't get thru to post a comment on your post about your grandson! I had to get the tears out of my eyes! Thank you so much for sharing! And as far as the paintings go it's a toss up between the first and the last for me! They're beautiful. I love the colors! God Bless! Lauralu :)
Miss Laura Lu~ I went to your blog but couldn't find how to comment, so I'll just say a big THANK YOU here! I'm so glad you liked both posts!
And Glenda~ You know we all appreciate how you leave so many sweet and thoughtful comments on everyone's blog! Blogland wouldn't be the same without you gf!!
Laura
I love these Laura and what a sweet story about your dear husband. Each time I look at these I change my mind as to which is my favorite. What a wonderful gift. Love, Cindy
laura, you got yourself a good man there. I love all the paintings, but if I have to pick a favorite, it would have to be the one with the two friends.
Thank you for the lovely compliment. I see we both are fond of red ! I have enjoyed what I have read of you blog and will be back.
Sometimes it's difficult to visit everyone but I really appreciate your kind words.
I just rather quickly changed the name of my blog, and now I am not sure I did it right. Will have to back it up.
I have a stamp that looks just like the swirls on the sides of your blog. I love them here.
