Metamorphosis Monday ~ An Old Antique Table

Hi everyone!! This week I'm participating in Susan's (Between Naps on the Porch) Met Monday!! I was planning on participating last week but a sprained shoulder kept me off the 'puter!

Every summer I make a "To-do" list. Most of the time I usually accomplish about half on the list. :-) One of the things was to re-paint an old antique table I had previously been using as a TV stand.

It was painted a dark hunter green...

That definitely did not go with my bedspread.

So after taping up the "feet" with paper and painter's tape...

I spray painted it with an almond color. (Pictures make it look white.)

Added some of my favorite "girly" things and several doilies ~ and Presto! An easy and quick metamorphisis!! :-)

I can't wait to see more transformations over at BNOTP ~ I need an extra dose of inspiration to keep me "To-doing" this summer! :-)

Thanks for visiting!
Laura

Oh, Laura...I love the way your table turned out! I have a table like that stored away in the basement and it's pratically black...from just age. This is giving me some ideas! What a nice change and I know it looks fab with your beautiful bed now! So nice to see your name on the Met Monday list! :-)

Looks so good white. Isn't it amazing what paint can do. And to think most people scream when you say you are painting wood- not me.

What a beautiful transformation Laura! I have several pieces that need some elbow grease & paint & I'm dragging my feet... Your table is so pretty, it's a good incentive to start working on my "guinea pig" projects... doesn't sound too positive, huh? ☺ Diane

I love these old-timey looking (well, they are antiques, after all) tables, and you did a great job painting it and dressing it up. I gave away one similar to this, and I'm kicking myself now!

Is there still time to go somewhere this summer? lol. I've been so into this re-do, it seems like summer is over. We started in the yard early spring, now it's too hot to continue. Everything will have to wait until fall or next spring. Let me know where you end up going. I'll post a pic of my inspiration for the kitchen. Just something to go by. Check it out.

Laura, that table look so prety painted that color, and your feminine vignette on top is so great. I love that touch of feminity against the dark wood. If I were a decorator, I'd probably say, "it pops"!!! laurie

How did I ever miss this post, Laura? The table turned out so pretty and even prettier with the girly accessories on top. Sorry, I took so long in coming back. I went out to retake pics with a tripod cause the moon is full and so pretty and it was not captured right on the first pics I took....Christine

Hi Laura, I just visited your aunt's blog and felt so touched with her post and almost cried. I can feel how close she was to your dad, who sounds like a wonderful man. That explains how kind you are. Happy birthday to him. In his case, the saying "Only the good die young" was just proven true...Christine
